Frequently Asked Questions

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation for us to discuss what you are hoping to work on in therapy, see how our schedules align, and potentially set up an appointment. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about the therapy process during this consultation. This call also helps us see if we are a good fit to work together. If we are not the best fit, I’ll happily provide referrals to other providers.

Individual Therapy – Initial intake is $200 and subsequent sessions are $180

Couples/Relationship Therapy  Initial intake is $200 and subsequent sessions are $200

Gender Affirmative Surgery Evaluations – $100

I offer a sliding scale reduced fee for individuals who are unable to afford my full fee based on client income and my availability. I am also happy to provide referrals to reduced fee therapists in the Austin area.

I accept Aetna, Oscar Health, Oxford, and United Healthcare insurance plans.

If I do not accept your specific insurance, I can be seen as an out-of-network provider if you have out-of-network benefits. This means that clients pay me directly and request reimbursement from their insurance company. I will provide superbills for clients to submit for insurance reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider to learn about your out-of-network coverage.

I generally see clients on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesday is an administrative day which allows me to connect with new clients, consult with other clinicians, and attend or lead trainings to develop and maintain my clinical skills.

I offer both in-person and telehealth psychotherapy services. My current office is located at 3432 Greystone Drive, Suite 120 in Austin, Texas.

Additionally, I offer my virtual therapy services to people who reside in PSYPACT states. This includes Alabama (AL), Arizona (AZ), Arkansas (AR), Colorado (CO), Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Connecticut (CT), Delaware (DE), District of Columbia (DC), Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Idaho (ID), Illinois (IL), Indiana (IN), Kansas (KS), Kentucky (KY), Maine (ME), Maryland (MD), Michigan (MI), Minnesota (MN), Missouri (MO), Nebraska (NE), Nevada (NV), New Hampshire (NH), New Jersey (NJ), North Carolina (NC), North Dakota (ND), Ohio (OH), Oklahoma (OK), Pennsylvania (PA), Rhode Island (RI), South Carolina (SC), Tennessee (TN), Texas (TX), Utah (UT), Virginia (VA), Washington (WA), West Virginia (WV), Wisconsin (WI), and Wyoming (WY).

Please provide 24 hours notice if you have to cancel an appointment. A fee of $130 is charged for sessions cancelled within 24 hours.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan, coverage, or Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage, both orally and in writing, of their ability, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. If you are working with me as a therapist and not using insurance, I will provide you with a Good Faith Estimate document in your new client paperwork, which will clearly explain the cost of therapy. If you have any questions, we can discuss it prior to or in your first session.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Therapy is an incredibly unique and personal experience for each individual. As such, therapy does not have a set timeline for completion. I work with each of my clients to identify goals at the onset of treatment, and I use these goals to navigate the therapy process. As we continue meeting, we will regularly check in on your goals to see if therapy is still feeling helpful for you. Some people benefit from short-term therapy which may last only a few sessions, while others may benefit from long-term therapy which can last for months or even years. We will work collaboratively to help you know when your therapy experience with me is complete. And I look forward to going on this journey with you.
