My Story

My name is Dr. Peyton Jones, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist. Originally from Western Ohio, I received my B.S. in Psychology from Wright State University. My concentration in behavioral neuroscience focused heavily on the biological basis of human sexuality, and I chose to pursue a minor in Sexuality Studies. Through this education, I developed a passion for understanding sex and relationships and realized I wanted to pursue a career in which I could help people develop healthy, satisfying relationships and sexual empowerment.

To make my dream a reality, I received my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University. My research in graduate school focused on the disparities in mental healthcare for transgender individuals, stigma against polyamory and consensual non-monogamy, and relationship satisfaction among practitioners of kink and BDSM. My generalist education provided me with the skills to address a wide variety of mental health concerns, and my research enhanced my passion for working with sexual minorities and members of marginalized communities.

I have practiced therapy, psychological assessment, and supervision in university counseling, community mental health, and private practice settings. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the University of Tennessee Counseling Center in Knoxville, Tennessee and my post-doctoral fellowship at Deep Eddy Psychotherapy in Austin, Texas. I have a passion for promoting social justice and bringing joy, humor, and authenticity to the therapy space. I want to help you reach your goals and create a sustainable life worth living.

Outside of work, I enjoy connecting with friends and family, running along Austin trails, swimming, exploring new restaurants and breweries, and cuddling with my cat. I am a proud fantasy and horror fanatic and hold a deep love for all things spooky and Halloween-related.
